Designing Women

It's well known that I'm not the girliest of girls and my children have never really been exposed to fashion magazines in our home (and really, isn't that a good thing?). But now that I share a home with my best friend, Lindsay, the girls have more of a girly presence around (this is somewhat hilarious since Lindsay builds things for work and has lately been coming home with sawdust in her hair). But yesterday the girls discovered an InStyle magazine, which included the requisite quiz to help you solve all life's problems. This one was, "What is Your Design Style?" I can't tell you how much my daughters enjoyed going through all the questions, making their individual choices, and then adding them up to get their results. It was fun for me to watch this for a variety of reasons, but the main reason being that it was a sweet moment between three people I love dearly.

Families come in all shapes and sizes, and Lindsay is important member of our little family.

[For the record: Cecilia's style came up as "The Global Trekker" and Ruby was "The Minimalist."]
